IS THERE A FEE TO PARTICIPATE IN SLEEPLESS IN LEXINGTON?
In the tradition of a walkathon, participants will have family & friends sponsor them to raise money to help the homeless in Lexington through Sleepless Alliance Partner non-profit organizations helping the homeless. There is a $25 registration fee per sleeper, which counts towards the minimum fundraising goal of $55 per sleeper.

WHAT WILL MY MONEY GO TOWARDS?
All money collected for SLEEPLESS IN LEXINGTON will support programs to help the homeless and poor at one of eight Sleepless Alliance Partners: Catholic Action Center, Lexington Rescue Mission, Lighthouse Ministries, Nathaniel Mission, Room in the Inn, ROSM, Salvation Army, and Step by Step.

WHEN SHOULD I TURN IN MY DONATIONS?
You can donate on-line by clicking on the “DONATE NOW” button on the home page of this website or if you are collecting donations off-line you can send a check made payable to:

“Kentucky Christian Foundation”
*Please also write Sleepless in Lexington fund on the memo line of your check

IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE?

WHAT ARE THE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS?
Each sleeper will have their choice of a cot (rental fee), cardboard, or plastic sheeting to sleep on for additional opportunities to experience the homeless condition. Bring everything you need to spend the night outdoors (sleeping bags, pillows, blankets).

Cardboard, Duct tape and markers will be supplied to individuals or groups wanting to build their own “Cardboard City”.  An award will be given to the youth group building the most creative city.  Is your youth group up to the challenge?

WHAT IF IT RAINS?
SLEEPLESS IN LEXINGTON will continue as planned. The homeless sleep outside even in unfavorable weather.  However there is room under the bleachers to take cover in the event of a storm.

WILL SLEEPLESS IN LEXINGTON BE SAFE?
Yes, there will be volunteer off-duty police officers on site all night, all areas will be well-lit, and a fence will surround the event's perimeter.

DO PARTICIPANTS HAVE RE-ENTRY PRIVILEDGES?
Yes. However, please remember that all sleepers need to check in by 9 PM.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME TO SLEEPLESS IN LEXINGTON?
Bring items you will need to be warm at night. However, please pack lightly since space around your sleeping area will be very limited. Ideas include:
Sleeping bag
·  Pillow
·  Sweatshirt
·  Hat
·  Earplugs
·  Water will be provided and there will be additional food for sale from vendors.

WHAT ABOUT VALUABLES / LEAVING ITEMS NEAR MY SLEEPING AREA at SLEEPLESS IN LEXINGTON?
Do not leave valuables on or near your sleeping area. Keep them in your car instead. SLEEPLESS IN LEXINGTON and Sleepless partner non-profit organizations are not responsible for lost or stolen items during the event.

CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD?
No. A large variety of snacks, Ballpark food, Breakfast food (Sunday Morning) and beverages will  be sold by Applebee’s Park Vendor.  Applebee’s Park has an exclusive agreement with their vendor (Aramark) to sell all food on site with no carry-in food or drinks allowed.  Please honor this agreement by not bringing in any food or drinks.

WILL THERE BE A FIRST AID STATION ON-SITE?
Yes.  SLEEPLESS IN LEXINGTON will have first aid supplies and medical staff on-site throughout the event.

IS THERE AN AGE MINIMUM?
Yes. We require that all participants be above age 5 and that those under 18 be accompanied by a parent, youth pastor or supervisor.

IS THERE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE TO GET TO SLEEPLESS IN LEXINGTON?
Yes. There are bus stops that are very close to Applebee’s Park.
